WWE: Money in the Bank is an annual World Wrestling Entertainment offering that is usually held in July. There have been three WWE: Money in the Bank events that have aired to date. The Money in the Bank was initially a specialty match that took place each year at WrestleMania. The premise of the match was that anywhere between six to eight WWE superstars would enter the match as individuals. There is a briefcase that is tied and held above the ring. The briefcase contains a contract that guarantees the winner of the match a World Championship title match at a time of their choosing. To win the match, the wrestler would need to climb a ladder and take the briefcase off of its latch.
