This movie heightens the awareness of homeless dogs and the plight of dog rescues and shelters. A man is about to get married and wants to find a new home for his 11 year old golden retriever whom he loves like a brother. He and his friend, another dog lover, end up on a road trip while searching for the right home. Along the way we learn about the unavailability of shelter space for dogs and how hard it is for rescues and shelters to get some of them adopted. There is also a segment in which puppies were put in a box and left on the side of a highway. In another instance, a man had a small dog chained in a little dog house out in the yard. He was hitting his dog because she wouldn't eat. The golden retriever owner buys the little dog to get him away from the abuse. This is a heartwarming story of the love we have for our dogs. Our dogs are family.
