Laali gets her first period and she doesn't know anything about it yet. Her mother explains how this has been a curse for women and how it reshapes their lives. Her father goes to the village chief BAPU and asks for his guidance. BAPU suggests him to stop the school and make her learn household works as she would be married soon. Laali starts working at BAPU's home and comes to meet DEEKSHA, BAPU's daughter who comes for a visit from the city where she stays with her maternal uncle. She comes to recognize the pain of Laali who would love to go to school and learn. She confronts BAPU and threatens him if he doesn't change this patriarchal system for little girls who want to study and make him understand his mistake.
